Strange internet uploading?

I have noticed in the past few days that once I connect to the internet. Starts uploading stuff. I dont know what. Currently I have been connected for a hour. I have recieved about 4 MB but I have sent 23. The strange thing is I am sending stuff at about 6-8 kbps. but I only download at 4kbps. Can anyone tell me what the heck is happening. For all I know personal information is being sent out the door as I speak.

check to see what programs are running you very easily could have a virus/trojan. You should check for adware as well as do a virus scan. If you don't have a firewall then you need to get one zone alarm has a nice little freebie that works well.

to give you a comparisson i've been online almost 50 mins and have sent 1.5mb and recieved 7mb it is normal for your computer to send some info but 23 out and 6 in seems odd make sure your reading those number right becuase it could be the other way around.
