Bad Monitor?

I received a new KDS XF-9bi monitor from OD last week.
The monitor actually is a nice unit (for the price) but it seems to have a 'shimmy' or 'gitter' or 'shake' to it. No matter what resoulution or refresh rate the monitor is set at it's still there, although setting the refresh rate lower seems to slow the gitter down.
At first it didn't seem real noticable but it's becoming somewhat bothersome.
I think it needs to be returned but thought i'd ask to see if there is a possable setting I might be missing somewhere that would cure the problem.

Thanks
WB

Do you mean as in a scrolly line or just a 'shakey' screen?

Do you see any discolorment?

I ask because it sounds as if you are getting emectromagentic interfearence. Move your monitor as far away from your computer, TV, and other monitors as possible. See if that fixes it.

Also, look on the back for 3 little knobs (probably not on a new monitor as such, but you never know). Those could help.

'shakey' sreen.
I moved the Klipsch Speakers (monitors) off the desktop a few days ago and it made no difference.
I just moved the Logitech Navigator IR pad for the keyboard and mouse 3 feet away from the unit and the poblem is still there.
I have an Envision (Staples deal) that I was using for a couple of weeks and never had EMI problems unless the volume was turned up pretty loud.
There is nothing within 2 feet of the monitor and the problem persists. It seems to come and go at random.
Hmmmmmmm.

Sounds like some of the parts may be starting to go, or that there is a defect in a part somewhere.

It would probably have to be ALOT of EMI now that I think about it, since the Refresh rate is set pretty low. Tell me, does it still do this when set to 640x480 resolution at the lowest refresh? If so, it's most likely NOT EMI, unless you have an unshielded 50 MW generator sitting right next to the screen

I say if it does it at the low res and low refresh, return it.

Well, I received the replacement monitor tues so now I have 2 of them sitting side by side.
Unfortunatly, the new one does the exact same thing as the old one.
This leads me to believe that the problem lies elsewhere.
I suppose that the gitter could be an inherent problem within the monitors but I highly doubt it.
I suppose the next step would be to swap the vid card out to see if that makes any difference.
Anybody have any other thought or suggestions on how to resolve this problems?

Thanks
WB
