Just got a 9600 pro Atlantis ATI Radeon of Sweeper.
128 mb, x8

getting bench marks of 10,000 on 3d mark se 2001
stock...

athlon 2500 xp
256 ram ddr 333
13 gig hard drive
Gigabyte mother board 400 FSB K7 Triton agp x8 Kt600
ddr 400+

ok , here's the deal...everytime i try to overclock board or video card...locks up on me....run stock, works fine.
had a fx 5200 mb nvidea, i could over clock processor to 2.2 ghz
and also over clock card and it would never freeze. Low scores, around 5500 overclocked.
any hints on what could be problem with trying to overclock?

heck, might as well replace that old 13 gig with a new one. Hard Drives are pretty inexpensive these days. As for your overclocking and lock up problem, I would think it was due to heat. Your CPU was at 47c while at idle... other than that, I am not much into the AMD scene. Not sure on the overclocking of the CPU.

10,000 isn't bad at all with the system stock.

maybe your mobo doesn'tlock the agp and the vc can't take the higher bus?

Hard drive does sound really loud for some reason...
13 gig with 7.7 gig free
have a software program where i can change voltage to ram, card and cpu seperatly, but even the slightes change to video card alone or cpu by itself causes lock up...will run maybe one benchmark..then next time lock up. Most i got was 10600 on 3d 2001 se and 3200 on 3d mark 2003 slightly overclocked..

Weird how i could over clock to 2.2 ghz with the nvidea fx 5200 in system and now with just a new video card, unable to..??

nvidia card may have not been as picky on the voltage needs to it.
