system idle process?

My computer has been lately running so damn slow so i checked the processes tab and at the bottum it says 'system idle process' taking 80% of my cpu. Can anyone help?!?!??! plz!!

That just means that 80% of your cpu is available while it is idle, nothing is utilizing it at the moment...not a bad thing.

thats nornal , just means that your computer is at idle, other process are using 20% and 80% is at idle(not being used)

DANM! well that sucks now i have no leads to why my computer just suddenly got so amazingly slow...

my system has started to run slow too. I would sugest on defraging (yes you still should do it once in a while if you are using NTFS), running a spy ware clean up utility would be good too. Also run a registry clean up utility.

Only other thing is to check the processes you have running and check how much RAM they are taking up.

That's not the reason your computer is running slow-in fact, all that is telling you is that your computer is at 20% load. That's not a bad thing. As far as slow performance, have you done a disk cleanup and defrag in a while?
*EDIT* oops, little slow on the typing...
