Take a peek here . Lots of good info, and you can probably make a good, informed decision from their info.

It really comes down to whether you want sealed or open earpieces, BTW, I love my 280's but I prefer the closed-cup designs.

Are you a Head-Fier?

Ask your question there. They'll surely be able to answer your question.

Tomteriffic, they don't compare them back to back so it's hard to decide, they don't say like Grado - mids good
280 - mids bad

or something like that, they have no system for comparison, you know...

closed-cup? what's that?

thanks for the link MD1032 i'll ask there

What I meant was the difference in the earpiece designs. The Grados are open-air phones. In other words, you can hear through them into the room, etc. The Sennheisers are a closed cup design that provide isolation from the noises in the room and, coversely, don't leak their own sound out into the room.

Ask around in Head-Fi and also read a bunch on headroom (the link tom gave you). Open phones usually offer the best quality, but if you need isolation the HD-280 pro's are the way to go.
