Drive Image 2002 on a network - won't work

I am trying to backup my main system to a shared drive on my PII system with Drive Image 2002. Both running 2K. For the life of me I can't get it to work.

Keep getting the message that the drive can't be seen at boot.

It signs on thru TCP/IP and when it asks for the password (there is none) and I hit enter I get the message and have to re-boot.

This is the UNC path I am using for the drive on the PII which is my H:\ drive on my main system. Pasted from My Network Places:

\\Blackw2k\D

Am I leaving something out?

bill - try this
\\blackw2k\d:\
but bill im not sure i understand the problem
1. you make a copy of the c:\ drive using drive image
2. you install it on the pII
3. you map it on the main sys as H:\
4. you can see the drive drive
on the network
5. but it is not locally bootable on the pII ? OR:
5. you cant do a network boot of your main system using h: as the boot drive?

That path was correct.

One thing that wasn't explained was that you have to use a boot floppy in order to backup to a network drive not the "virtual" floppy.

I was finally able to backup C:\ but D:\ was not available to backup.

Said it was unallocated space.

All my apps and mp3's are on D:\.
