Hey everyone, Here is some drama for who ever wants to read.
A while ago I posted a thread that stated
"Windows user interested in linux".
Before I start let me preface my situatiion.
About yr back I bought a SOYO SY-K7ADA motherboard, supplied it with a simple AMD athlon processor about 1.33GHz. I bought a new processor later that year. Can't remember what the speed was, slightly higher than the one mentioned above. Anyhoo....
A few mnths ago, I come home to find that my monitor was not receiving a signal from my box. Long story short my processor was fried. I think I had my box under powered. (250watt PS) ooops! I have a new system now, it runs extremely, awesomely well.
I was trying to rebuild my old box with the Athlon 1.33Ghz, and I think the fried processor killed that SOYO board as well.
My question to whom ever makes it this far in my novel is:
Should I make a dual boot system, or buy a cheap mother board and rebuild my old box?
Also, how can you tell if a processor is bad?
Will Mandrake 9.2 work with a PII 266MHz processor?
The reason I ask is because I have an old PII mother board laying here.
Thanks!
