DOS command

I totally formated my HArd Drives..
But i wanna install win98 ( only OS available to me right now) but it says that the D: drive cant be formatted cause it has errors and stuff...
I know its because those paritioned were made with Windows XP...

So i tried using FDISK to format the non dos parition but the problem is i dunno the volume label.. is there a way to find out the label? Or a default command to over ride this?

how about a command to change the drive label to somethign else?

Try running the zero fill format utility that can be found or downloaded for free from your HD mfgs site. This will wipe out everything on your drive and make it "RAW" essentially your system will recognize this drive as fresh out of the box never been used. Then you can FDisk, create partitions etc and Format the drive(s), then try installing 98 fresh.

On another note I believe that if you have XP partitions that Fdisk has an option to remove non DOS partitions.
