NLX form factor

Recently purchased 2 supposedly NLX cases (B5-N) and 2 Asus MES-N mobo's from matrixsurplus. They quoted as saying this case was "ideal for the P2B-N and MES-N motherboards."
This is NOT the case! The riser card for the MES-N is a 3 pci slot design, the case only has openings for only 2. Further, the riser won't permit re-insertion of the cdrom/floppy rack, the motherboard power supply connection is halfway out of the chassis, screw mountings are radically misplaced, and the usb port protrudes out the front of the faceplate a good 2 inches.
So we have 2 commodities that are NLX form factor that will not
work together.
So his leads me to the question of what mobo actually does fit in a B5-N NLX case, conversely, what case will actually accomodate MES-N mobo?

Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear of the misfortune. I had noticed matrix having the nlx stuff and was trying to keep that in mind cuz its harddddd to find.

WIll they not take it back??

JP

Ps..I just remembered that I have a packard bell legend 105cd. Its some sort of nlx or lpx...not sure which. Has room for like 4 exp cards on the daughter board. The backplate of the computer as you are looking at it from the back has video, parallel, serial connectors starting from the right edge.

Wow, I can't find much on that case. I have found 2 sites that list the B5N as a micro NLX case, not NLX.

Ah...well thank you .. and heres more news... apparently there are no less than 3 different riser cards for this mobo. First is the NLX-R w/2pci & 1 ISA ,front usb, short profile (the ones I need). Second, the B9-N w/3pci , front usb, long profile (the ones I got). And finally the Yeong-Yang w/2pci & 1 ISA pinout on mobo for remote usb. No wonder these never really took hold. Oh, btw
Asus shipped the risers separate from the actual mobo, like that wouldn't add to the confusion.
