Outdoors Win 95, 24Bit color, 98se 16colors!!! Wtf happened to my vid card?

Hi,

I have an AcerNote Light 350PCX Laptop 133MHz, 40MB RAM, and Chips and Technologies 65545 PCI video card. I had 95 on the system before and 24bit color worked. I installed 98se, and now I can't even go to 256 color mode. I've tried all the drivers, what should I do?

Go vendor's website and D/L latest W98 compatible drivers.

Boot into 16 color mode or SAFE mode, uninstall current drivers, even remove video device in Device Manager.

Reboot, let W98 detect new hardware, and then install the new drivers. (If there are no newer drivers available, the uninstall and redetect may allow Windows to reinstall your older drivers without the problems you are having.)
