Radeon 9600 Pro vs. 9800 Non Pro
Which one is better? Looking at picking up a card ASAP for another system. Not sure which one.
9600 Pro 128MB - 4 rendering pipelines 400/ 300 (600DDR)
9800 Non Pro 128MB - 8 rendering pipelines (not sure on clock speed)
$100 dollar difference.... worth it?
?????

I would go for a 9800 non-Pro if I had the extra money to spare. I like its 8 rendering pipelines and 256-bit memory.
FYI: Radeon 9800 Pro is 380/340

Ok so the clock speed is 325/250 (500DDR)
Does that make the 9800 Non Pro slower than the 9600 Pro at 400/300 (600DDR)?

I've never used a 9800 before, but I think the 256-bit bus makes up for the slower clock.

You are correct tgx. The 9800 is better than the 9600. Worth the extra money? That depends on what you use this machine for. Obviously, the 9800 will last you longer and game better.

Ok, so now we are really not sure what to get....
I can't find a site that shows the exact clock speed of the 9800 non pro... that was just a suggested speed from a site I found.
Yes the 256-bit bus sounds nice, but the core/memory speed seems pretty low......

consider this. The clock speed of the R9700 is 275/270. Clock speed is only one part of the picture, the 256bit bus makes up for a lot.
