Sapphire Radeon bulk or lite?

At NewEgg, the Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro lite box costs less than the bulk version, but I thought that the lite box comes with more stuff.

What's the reason for paying an extra dollar to get less stuff, even if the extra stuff is just a box? Are the cards made differently?

That type of pricing seems to happen at NE.
A couple of months ago you could pick up the Turtle Beach SC Retail for $20.00 less then the OEM model.
Normally "bulk" or "OEM" is cheaper because there is nothing but a drivers disk included. That is usually the way I buy product as the money saved can be considerable at times.

BTW,Your link is not working.

Thanks for the heads up. I fixed the link, but I couldn't get it to show only the Pro versions, so the non-Pro versions are also in that page.

Stay away from the LITE. In all probablity it has SLOW memory. You want 400 core and 300 (x 2=600)memory. LITE's have 400 core and 200 memory (x 2 =400). OEM's are driver disc only. This is ok as games are usually old one's no one wants. Beside's you will probably want to download newer drivers.

Uh... you might be mistaken, skeeter. You may have confused the LV version of Gigacube or the EZ version of PowerColor with the Lite box of Sapphire.

The Lite box just means it doesn't come with all the extra software that the Retail box comes with. I think the video card is still the same. At least this is what I gathered from the Sapphire website.

Quote:
Full retail indicates that the package contains the entire bundle including the Game software bundle and utilities. The Lite retail versions do not come bundled with the software bundle and are packaged with the neccessities needed to enjoy the pinnacle in performance from Sapphire alone.
