Kids Winfast TV2000 XP Deluxe won't start

I got this TV card a month ago, it worked fine until the other day. Now when I try to start the PVR program or the FM program, the splash screen comes up but nothing else happens, and the program does not respond. There was never any problem with it until the other day. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling everything, but didn't help any.

ANybody have any idea what could be the problem? I have downloaded the newest drivers from the Leadtek web site, and don't have any viruses that Norton is aware of. Here's my system specs:

Celeron 2.5 GHz
Intel 845G motherboard chipset
256 MB Ram
128 MB NVidia GeForce FX 5200 video card
Onboard Realtek AC97 audio
80 GB HDD

Hi-

No, there is no error message. It just displays the logo for Winfast PVR or FM, but the control window never comes up, and it just sits there. If I right-click the button on the task bar and close it, Windows pops up a message saying that the Winfast PVR or whatever is not responding and gives the option to end the task. So I don't know what the deal with this thing is. It worked fine just a couple days ago!

I am running Win XP SP1. I haven't installed any new drivers or software that I am aware of , although I do know that recently Windows Update installed something, some kind of security update. Do you think maybe that could be interfering somehow with the TV application? thanks

Maybe, if the update included the infamous "windows media player".

You might try to update the Winfast drivers Here: http://www.leadtek.com.tw/support/do...?pronameid=304
At the bottom of the page are the instructions, follow them as closely as you can.

I own the same card and have had the same problems in the past (see my system specs below). I have found that if i "end-task" the pvr program in the taskmanager (ctrl+alt+del, processes) and restart the program it usually works okay. other times I just give up. Please let me know if you find a difinitive solution to this annoyance. Thanks!!!

Well, I've installed the latest Winfast drivers but it did not fix the problem. The app still will not start correctly. I'm going to try different versions of the Winfast PVR software & see if that will work.

Thanks.
