While the computer is booting, hit F8. This will bring you to the safe mode prompt. Boot into safe mode and change the resolution/refresh back to acceptable parameters.

boot into safe mode....right click an empty area of the desktop...click "properties"..then "settings" then maybe "advanced"..then it could be "list all modes" or maybe "adapter" and try to set the refresh rate to , say, 70-75hz.

thank you ALL for ur help!

what i did was........... hit F8 at boot menu between "WIN ME and WIN XP"

then it asked me....... if i wanted to start in safemode or just plan old VGA..... and i knew that VGA would be the default 480 screen and default refresh rate........ so i did that.

that worked, and i changed it back to the 800X600 60hz 32bit screen......... but still, thank YOU all guys for helping me out

thank god for TechIMO
