Action cancelled

Ok. this is annoying. I keep getting "Action cancelled" in ads. when i click on them, they open new pages, but with the same action cancelled, or page cannot be displayed. I dont have any ad blockers installed. I erased all my cookies and temporary files and it still happens. HELP!!!!!!!

Try ALT+F4 when they pop-up to close them. Some have "fake" close symbols and trying to close them only verifies your site.

sorry, you miss understood my comment...I want to be able to see and access them. they are somehow blocked.

I'm using IE 6 with XP pro and SP1

Actually I got a fix. there is a file called HOSTS in Windows\system32\drivers\etc rename it HOSTS.xxx that fixes the problem. I found it on another forum and I'm not sure why it works, but it does.

It is not always only ads. For instance, when i do a search using msn, the top matches that are paid for to be place so high did the same thing when i clicked on them. It was just annoying to go to webpages and see boxes (frames) saying Action cancelled or page cannot be displayed on the side and top, banners etc. Especially in yahoo. that was the worst of it.
