fsb issues asus/amd3000+

My friend has a computer he bought from IBuyPower.com

He has a asus A7N8x

A amd athlon xp 3000+

We found the fsb could only go up to 266mhz and when it did (even with low multiplyer settings, it would not boot.

I dont know much about Asus and its mobo brands...

Anyone got any ideas as to whats goin on, maybe updating the bios would do something

lol, thats way to high.
Reset the CMOS and try these settings, the default clock speed is 2.17 Ghz, so as long as your within 50 Mhz of that then he will be fine

167 FSB X13
200 FSB X11

That is what I have and the default is 166 x 13.
since this is a 333 bus speed board, it has a built in multiplier. whatever the FSB shows in the bios is multiplied by 2. I hope this helps.
