New Dell Commercial WRONG!

I dont know if anyones seen the new dell commercial talking about how they can save you money by switching to them.

During the commercial a lady states (and this is true)
" We have switched from Unix to Linux based technology"

Doesnt Dell notice that Linux is running on a Unix platform

If Dell even cared (like Microsoft does) about their customers, i believe they would have put more work into researching the basis of Linux before exploiting it during their commercial.

If anyone wants to see the commercial i will be recording it and posting it onto http://tbk.aowc.net sometime in the future.

What Dell is talking about here is the Unix package vs. the Linux package. The Unix package typically includes an expensive high end proprietary machine (think Sun) and the Linux package typically includes commodity hardware (think Dell).

Although linux is derived from unix, I think Dell's primary goal is to persuade business users to switch from proprietary unix solutions such as Solaris, AIX, IRIX, HP-UX, and Tru64 to cross-platform compatible linux solutions provided by their company.

linux started out as a "clone" of unix..... it is not running on a unix platform.

Similar OS's .... not duplicates however.

M$ caring about it's customers...... WHAT ????? OMG... never mind... I'm stopping now before my fingers start typing out of control.........

I'm sure there are people somewhere that find this insulting and disturbing.

And those people really need to get a life.
