CD Write Speed???

My CD-RW should write at 48x max but then all of a sudden I noticed all my burning programs only allow burning at 24x...

Does anyone have a clue what settings changed? Bad drivers?

Your cd's are rated for 24x max.

That's possible. Have you switched to a different brand of CDR lately?

For some reason Nero will only burn one batch of CDR's I got at Best Buy (can't remember the brand) at 32x but all other brands it would burn at 40x (it's rated speed). Works just fine otherwise.

I'm still using the same brand so that's not it... Memorex 48x Multi Speed.

Strangely, the CloneCD program can burn at 48x but Nero and Easy CD Creator is only allowing me at 24x still...

Did you recently upgraded your firmware or the Nero and Clone CD packages?

Well I upgraded from Easy CD Creator 5 to 6 but I've burned at 48x with 6 before, I think...
