Vantec or Zalman? (heatsink)

$40.99 Zalman CNPS7000A-AlCu Aluminum + Copper CPU Cooler for AMD XP Socket 462

or

$30.99 VANTEC AeroFlow VA4-C7040. For AMD socket A 462

I am shooting for QUIET here. Will probably wind up in an Antec Sonata case.

Just looking for other's experience with either of these heatsinks. The Zalman is awful pretty, but this case will lack a window, so it doesn't really matter.

Ay other super quiet HSF combos under $40 would be considered also. (cooling an AMD XP 1800+)

EDIT: or... the $40.99 Thermaltake SILENT BOOST Highest Performance Cooler. Application for AMD Athlon XP up to 3400+.

leaning towards that one =)

for an amd ? if so then zalman drops out, Ive heard that there are problems with zalman and socket a + the zalman book itself says "not resposible for any damange resulting from using this cpu on a socket a" which makes me believe that there is indeed a serious problem if they put such a disclaimer in the book

check the dba ratings
the TT silent boost shows a pretty good 21dba
the zalman is 20 silent (low rpms) 25 full blast (high rpms)
the vantec shows 38 dB !!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaa scary

http://www.vantecusa.com/product-cooling.html#

click on it then click the model number and check the specs
I was just writing what I read (actually 38dba was an actual copy and paste from their website)
+ I had some experience with vantec, not this model, but still leaves an imprint and you know what was the end result ? I was getting actual headaches because of the fan (you could even probably find my posts here about that)
