reversing the cpu fan is cool

My motherboard is totaly fudged due to excessive heat from the CPU damaging the board. I'm about to get a new motherboard in a few days so I thought hey why not reverse the CPU fan to see how it affects temperature. To my surprise, it actually LOWERED the temperatures! The CPU runs at the same temp (60C) but the motherboard is only 35C, that's a full 20C cooler.

If you're ever having a problem with the motherboard getting too hot, just try reversing the direction of the CPU fan so it sucks from the heatsink instead of blowing onto it.

I've ran mine both ways and I have to say i've never seen any difference but I'd have to say i was looking more at the cpu temps than the board temps so it might have been possible that there was a bit of a difference. BTW your board should be about 20* cooler than your cpu no matter what. and 60*c is a little on the high side

Omar, the inside is terrible with cables. I took the covers off the unused drive bays to allow for more air flow. When I look into those drive bay slots, I can't see to the other side of the case; I only see those wide ribbon cables that connect to the hard drive and CD drive.

About the CPU temp, does the CPU ever really get damaged? My CPU has outlasted 2 motherboards while running at the same temperature of 60C so I sort of assume that it handle 60C with no problems. Is there a point where I should get concerned about CPU temperature?
