This is my first time building a computer and I have a question? I bought a ATA 80GB hard drive but the motherboard I want asks for a Serial ATA hard drive. Will an ATA hard drive work with a Serial ATA motherboard? Please help me i dont want to burn anything.

No you need a SATA harddrive with your SATA motherboard, or an ATA harddrive with an ATA mtherboard. But I think you can buy a PCI card that has ATA slots/

What kind of motherboard is it? I have not seen a motherboard that has only SATA connectors on it and no IDE connectors.
