Help With Photoshop

Holding down the shift key to make perfect circles or squares with the marque tool no longer works.

Did I mess something up in the setting?

This is really irritating and I need to fix it asap.

When you click the selection tool. At top there is the toolbar and click the "new selection" button 2nd or 3rd farthest to the left..

..or I think when you load photoshop you can hold shift or ctrl+shift or ctrl+alt or all three not sure what the combination is but it resets everything back to defualts (or at least it does on mac)..

EDIT: okay, I checked you hold all three as photoshop is loading..

Check out your settings for your Marquee Tool.
See if maybe you have Style set to something other than Normal.



Normal - will let you freely make a selection of any size
Fixed Aspect Ratio - will keep the selection the same width & height (this is the same has holding [Shift] )
Fixed Size - self explanitory

Thanks guys, that helped me a bunch.
Made me look closer at my settings.

It turns out that I had "add to selection" as my option.
I changed it to "new selection" and it works fine now.
