Iexplore error in Istbar.dll Huh?????

Well, I vowed not to do it, but did it anyway........built a computer for a buddy & he's downloading one program after another. Well, I can't blame him for *using* his computer but he's already come to me about popups & I fixed that with Panicware. Now, he says he's getting an error when trying to shutdown that says the above mentioned error. Any ideas???

Athlon XP2000+
256mb ram
WD 80g HD
Windows ME

Rick,

Pretty sure?? Regardless, I'm gonna have him do it asap. We'll see if that helps him. He's a slightly paranoid personality-type anyway, so Ad-aware and Spybot should make him feel better even if it blew up after that........LOL!!! Thanks Rick!!!

That is a nasty looking one. I'd almost categorize it as a virus.

If I were you, I'd tell 'em next time it's a reinstall of everything, and when you do, make a Ghost image. That way if it happens again, you tell 'em they're gonna have to reimage. Might prompt them to quit d/l'ing and installing everything they click on.

You might wanna suggest Sygate Personal Firewall or ZoneAlarm both are free.

I prefer Sygate over ZoneAlarm as it just seems more "user friendly".
