At Home *Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault Thread*

*Thread created for the fans of the games from the Medal of Honor series. Here you can discuss due dates, screenshots, opinions, etc. Enjoy*

Well as many people love these games (I am one of them) I am very eager and unpatient for this game to be released. As a total fan of the game called Moh:aa (Medal of Honor: Allied Assault) I think this game will be even better that the best WW2 game ever created. Has anybody heard news about this game? Due date? Some screenshots will be more than appreciated in this thread. I heard its going to be releaced early 2004 but I am not sure. As this new WW2 game was released called COD (Call of Duty) which I consider good but not as great as Moh:aa for some reasons:

- The guys jump like bunnies
- The guys run too fast (seems to CS to me)
- Heavy game for people with bad video cards

I heard Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault was going to be delayed or not even created because of the big competition from this game. If this is true then I will be very dissapointed. Has anyone heard about this?

The expansions for Moh:aa have been mediocre in my opinion and they are just not that great. More weapons and maps but appearently most people seem to still enjoy Moh:aa more than these games. Thats why I am interested to see what will happen with the next release (not expansion, but whole game) of the Medal of Honor series.

Please share your information, opinions, news, screenshots, etc

dan

It's been released on the PS2, so I would assume we'll see it on our PC's sometime soon. I didn't buy Breakthrough, but I played Spearhead, which on the Hardest difficulty setting didn't take me as long, or seemed as hard as the Original on Normal. I should go back and play MOH:AA on Hard and compare.

I'm a little spoiled with the BF1942 mods/game just for the interactivity of it, but MOH has a special place on my HDD anyway. I think it has to do with the realism ( pure ) and the soundtrack, sounds, evironments really "bring you there". The Normandy invasion recreation was so intense, I actually felt apathy for the soldiers that where actually there. I don't know if I could have survived that in one piece if I were them.

Pacific Assault sounds to be more of the same, and that's what I'd expect from a great series like this. Expansion packs are just that though, expansions. They never re-live the original experience in quite the same way. They are short, and sometimes hastily produced, although I don't know if I could put that stereotype on the one I played ( spearhead ).

MOH, IMO, is an excellent single player experience, and the online experience is excellent also. If Pacific Assault is of this same caliber, then I'll be back to post that it was money well spent.

I think the word you want, RedFury, was empathy, rather than apathy.

I just saw an advert on TV for MoH:PA today. Looks great. I haven't been able to pick up Breakthrough yet, but I walked through AA and SH. The end of Spearhead is ridiculously difficult, running out into a bunch of soldiers with machine guns and two snipers. But maybe I just suck at FPS game.

I think it may have been released for X-Box already too, but I think I'll wait and pick it up on PC.

.

I much prefer CoD over MOH. In CoD you actually work in a team, i hate these "One man against everybody" games.

CoD is also insanely hard on the highest difficulty.. I'm playing it right now on the first level of the Brits campaign (we DO NOT sound like that by the way!) and it's really hardcore.

It comes from the periodic table, to fit in with the other elements we added an I, to make Al-u-min-i-um.

Ha I reserved this game 3 months ago with Halo and COD. I can't wait for some Jungle Warfare.

Well for me the expansions for Moh:aa were mediocre. I mean you get new weapons and maps (and speaches) but in Single player they were so short. And in Spearhead (havent tried full Breakthrough, only demo) they run faster by default and you have to configure it to make it like Moh:aa.

COD better than Moh:aa? Nain! And you have to work as a team at least in Multiplayer with Moh:aa when you play Clan battles. Have you been on a clan before? Single player I agree its you with a million soldiers and you win. But if it wasnt like that it would be extremely hard and it wouldnt be fun.

MoH series is famous for its WWII interface, its realism. I can't wait for the next release which will be the Pacific Assault. That game will show how COD really sucks.

Have you even played COD? It's SP and MP are the best.

Wasn't he talking about single player? No sh*t you can work as a team in multiplayer...any game can do that.
