Annoying Hide Inactive Desktop Shortcuts under XP

Does anyone know how to turn off that annoying "feature" of Microsoft's which becomes active after so many days/weeks/months/whatever which tells you you have unused desktop shortcuts (well, DUH) and asks you if you would like to remove them (Okay, so, assuming I have a brain (which I DO), if I had any shortcuts on my desktop which I didn't want, wouldn't I just remove them myself by selecting them and deleting them???)

Essentially, it is the equivalent of "Hello. You have desktop icons which you don't use every single day. You obviously placed them there for a reason, but I am going to assume that they are there and that you don't want them there. I will now remove them all unless you specifically check each and every one that you don't want me to remove."

This is just annoying!
