Systems Hide Inactive Icons

I run Windows XP Pro and, a couple of days ago, I noticed that my Hide Inactive Icons feature in the Notification Bar had disappeared.

I have tried to reset it in the Taskbar Properties, but whatever I do seems to make no difference.

I have checked the relevant Registry entries and they all point to the feature being switched on.

Any idea as to what has happened and how I can put this right?

Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

I looked a little for answers on this one but didnt find anything real specific.

One guy said his dissappears from time to time and he changes it to "always hidden" and then back and it resets itself.

Have you used any of the accesability features such as "high contrast"? There is a msoft article about icons dissappearing if that feature is used.

Thanx John.
I have tried as many of the "standard" tricks as I know, but to no avail.
