Dual channel memory recommendation?

Building a new system on a A7N8X Deluxe mb. I've been looking at a Gb of Corsair TWINX1024-3200LL dual channel memory but it's a bit pricey
Any recommendations or should I stick with the Corsair? If I can't actually notice the difference I would just a soon go with good but less expensive memory and spend the $$ on a nicd LCD monitor
Tia for any advice.

I like Kingston Value Ram myself, little cheaper but works good with my A7N8X Dlx board just fine............but I guess it would depend on if you are overclocking too...........from what I understand, Corsair and the like are better for overclocking, but I am sure others can give better info on that........as for running stock speeds, the Kingston works for me........

What's your budget??

If you hurry you can get a couple of nice sticks of Geil 512MB PC-3200 Value 400MHz Ultra- CAS 2.5 for a cool $174.00 @ Newegg.com

You can read my post HERE for all the info about sticks of RAM and brands and about a common misconception about dual channel memory requirements.

HTH,

David

EDIT: Here's the link for the RAM I was talking about. It's the $85 dollar one. THe price is good until 11/11/2003 - 4:30 PST

I was thinking of 1024 MB Crucial PC3200 Dual DDR for approx. $220.00 US. The Corsair I was looking at was $325.00 US.

Well, the main problem with that RAM is that it's got a CAS rating of 3. That's not too good, and even though you might not think that 2.5 would make much difference, you'd be surprised! You're better off getting the Geil. It's just as reliable, and better performing. Not to mention it's a better value...

If you wanted to go better than that, you could even get this pack HERE.

It's a GeIL Golden Dragon Dual DDR 1GB(2x512MB) 400MHz Model GD3200-1000DC And there CAS 2 sticks of RAM!! All for $214, still less than the Crucial and a full 1 cas rating lower. That would DEFINITELY improve your performance.

HTH,

David

Thanks David. That's a pretty good deal alright. I will definitely take a look at it. Only problem with newegg for me is that they won't ship to Canada
I'll look for other vendors that will.
Iseeu, we do a fair amount of gaming, MOHAA, RTCW, Call of Duty, etc.
Thx
Gary
