Systems Lost My Internet Connection! Please Help!!

I have two computers connected to a Linksys BEFSR41 router. Yesterday, I received a message from Norton regarding Spyware that was on my computer called SAHAgent. I couldn't use add/remove programs (got an error) so I looked on the net and found instructions on removing it. However there was a caution in doing so because it's Winsock2 Layered and I could lose my network and internet connections.... which I did.

Whenever I open IE, I get a Page Cannot Be Displayed - Server or DNS error message. My email is fine, and so are my instant messenging programs. My other computer still works perfectly.

Does anyone have any clue what I can do to fix this? I looked at IPCONFIG and everything looks OK. I tried a release and renew and nothing happened.

Help!!

im not sure how to help you, but when someone does know, and you get up again, i suggest downloading these 2 progie's. They will clear most all spyware/trojans, just to make sure you dont have anything else lurking around.

sounds like a winsock error, you can download a winsock fix, just make sure you get the right version. xp has its own version... just google winsock fix (whatever OS you have) and download it and fix it.

i had to do that to mine and it worked great.. now if i can just get the rest of my internet to work right (completely different problem)

Go here and download the appropriate winsock.dll file for your OS.
