Win2k Pro OEM?

What does one of these packages look like? I have one that has a hologramed CD (obviously a real MS disk) in a paper liner that has the key on a label stuck to the back of it. Is this how they come? I've never seen a MS product like this before, except for an old disk of Works & Money that came with a computer I had several years ago. I know this OS is no longer on the system it was on, but trying to figure out if it's legal or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Rick

It sounds like it is probably a OEM disk. But to make it yours, you need the certificate of authenticity. It is usually a sticker that you would put on your PC or server with the product key on it. Without that, i dont think that you can legaly make it your copy.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks blubomber. Yeah, I'm not sure about this one. The disk appears to be authentic and it has a sticker with the key that could be affixed to the system it was installed on, but I've never seen one like this before. Most MS products I've seen had a fairly fancy sticker that plainly identified what it pertained to. This one is on a simple white label. I could easily reproduce it with my printer. I was planning to give this to a friend, but I may just discard it instead. It's not worth getting in trouble over.

Thanks, Rick

Personally Id use it and not look back. I dont see how it is wrong to use that when its not wrong to buy it at a million established places online.

Then it isn't a genuine sticker. I have bought a few copies of 2k OEM, and they come with that fancy holographic thing to get fixed onto the side of the machine.
It probably isn't legal, and definatley wouldn't be if you sold it on, but if its for your own system, what the hell. If the key works . . .
It may just have been that the sticker is on the case of the original machine, or that it messed up whilst trying to remove it. Then again, someone might have kept hold of the key.
