Kids motherboard Bios

friends. I wanna upgrade my motherboard bios. please advice



I have :

PII MMX 333Mz , 128 MB Ram,
Award Modular BIOS v4.51PGM ,
Intel 440EX/LX rev 3 chipset ,
Bios ID - 01/03/1998-i440LX-2A69J000C-00

Are there two letters before the 440 on your board? I have found a few, but they all seem to be identified with two additional letters.

By it saying "lx"..I think you are limited to a 333 P2 cpu...so if the bios flash is for that alone..you might ought to hold off....because if the flash goes wrong you are in trouble, lol.

You may be able to upgrade with a "slocket", perhaps even up to about a 733 celeron....MAYBE.

I have 40GB Hdd , it shows only 37GB. Thats y I like to upgrade.

While your bios might be too old to see the real size of the hd, it's not simply that.
HD manufacturers reports hd sizes as multiples of 1000, not 1024. Thus, your 40GB hd is really 37GB.

My friend and I had purchased that 40GB segate hdd together and his PC shows full 40 GB!! He had the same problem and he upgraded his bios and got full 40 GB .

what os do you have

i have win xp with an 80gb hdd that shows up as 76 or somthing........the MISSING gb are where my RECOVERY stuff is stored......on a seperate partition......if you are usin xp then maybe u too have a recovery section and not a bios problem

bios flashing can end in tears make sure u backup your current bios beforehand..............just in case.
