Kids KT3 ultra2 problem after upgrade

Hi
I just installed the 160 WD in my Pc.
up the Mobo bios ,
upgraded to an XP3000
and 1 gig of transcend Pc2700 registered.

I copied my old 40 gig C: partition and switched the drives
,no problem ,XP boot up.
My problem started when I try to reconnecrt the primary slave (120 GIG WD),the secondary master(CDRW) and the secondary slave(120 GIG WD.)
I tried every config possible,changed cables....,jumper..drive order.
Bottom line is the bios recognize the drives but gives then gives me an error message on the drives other than the primary master
The only config that I was able to run was one primary master and the CdRw as second master.
Eveything else fails.
The old cpu was a XP2400,
Ihave a rme sound card,a Uad1 Fx card and a matrox G550 in there

This one is really getting to me ,been trying to troubleshoot for 10 hours.
Any Ideas
Thanks

Francois

To my knowledge, some BIOS's can only recognize HD's up to a certain limitation of GB. You may need to partition the secondary HD so each partitions sum is below the threshold of the BIOS recognition capacity.* Also its parameters may need to be manually set in the BIOS. On boot up get into the BIOS and do a 'manual recognition of the HD. If the BIOS recognizes its parameters correctly you're in business. If not try to set them manually.
*See your mobo's manual, or visit their web page

Off the top of my head I dont think that KT3Ultra board supports registered memory but only standard unbuffered memory

It's working fine now with only 2 master ide
one HD and one CDR.
I did not try to hook slaves, the 2 120 gigs went for repairs.

you think it could be the problem?
Thanks
