Ourlook Express 6

I am having a problem with OE 6. The "majority" of the time, I get a blank window when I open attachments. This does not happen all of the time. I found an update patch for OE6 and tried to download and install it, but each time I do, I get a message that Internet Explorer 6 is required for this patch. I already have IE6 and all service packs and patches installed. However the Microsoft download center is not seeing my verision of IE6 and will not allow the download. I have searched all through the "support" area of microsoft but can not find the help I need. Actually, I find Microsoft help anything but "help". I have checked all my OE settings and find nothing that would stop me from receiving the attachments. Any suggestions??

Hmm, I ran across a problem once where the "do not allow attachments blah blah" was greyed out...Im not sure if that is the issue or not, but maybe it is related. The fx was a registry setting

Run "Regedit"

double click Hkey Local Machine
Software
Microsoft
Outlook Express
BlockExeAttachments

Change the 1 at the end to 0

I don't have that string listed.............Also, I have found that the problem only exists in trying to read "forwarded" email attachments

I am having the exact problem... my gut feel believes it started after applying a ms update to oe6

try forwarding the message, then you can open it
Sometimes it has to be forwarded 2 or 3 times.
