I need some help with my IBM Netvista...Please!!!!!

I have an IBM Netvista M42 PC, the motherboard that came with it had a faulty floppy controller so IBM sent me a new motherboard. Well...while it's easy to replace the entire motherboard, I'm having a great deal of difficulty placing the processor because it's glued onto a huge heat sink and I can't lock it into place due to the heat sink blocking everything. Does anyone know an alternative to this?????

Thanks!

It came out very easy. I just unscrewed it and that was it. But now to get it back in, there's no way I can "lock" it into place. So my fear is that I'm not getting the processor fully in.
