coca cola on a p4 laptop

so my brother in law called me up today, telling me he spilled a can of coke on his lap top while watching a movie....80% of the soda ran into the keyboard and everything while it was plugged in....
Anway, i dont think this is fixable, but im curious what this should run for, its a p4 with i think a 40gig harddrive.....i havent had time to look at it, but im wondering what, you guys might think its worth...he kinda wants to sell it and noone wants to touch it with a 10ft pole, he tried to send it out to be fixed but got laughed at and it was sent back...
so what do you guys think is a fair price to pay on a lappy with coke all over it and do you think it might have messed up anything else? (i.e. Ram, HD, DVD etc?)

dont know if it was diet or regular....do laptops have a preference i dont know about

he told me he wanted around $150 for it...
and is kinda adament on having it fixed....lol....i tried to tell him thats not going to happen, i want it so i can tear it apart, it seems when i work on a lappy, i tend to break the first of each model i work on, damn snap together this and that, hidden screw here and there....so it would make for a great ginnea pig for me...but im not gonna pay $150 for it....

Tell him to put it in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer.
It wont help fix it but it will stop him from spilling anything else in it.
