Need a bit of help...

What is the biggest difference in these two cards??

MSI Geforce FX 5200 Model FX5200-VTD128

MSI Geforce FX 5600 Model FX5600-VTDR128

There is about $50 difference, and I was wondering is there THAT much difference for a non- hardcore gamer..

If you aint doin that much gaming, save the money and get the 5200. I must warn you, the FX series are not that great. IMO, you would be better getting a Radeon 9200 or 9600.

The FX cards are not bad, the FX5600's far better than GF4 ti4200 despite what people (or benchmarks) say. If you want good priced card that is compareable the 9700pro and with DX9 go for the 5600. As far as I'm concerned the FX 5600 ultra has the best proformance to cost ratio.

DO NOT GET A FX 5200- not worth the $50 less!

I was looking at those MSI cards because of their VIVO capability. for importing Video and burning DVDs.

How can you say this, I think and am sure that many will agree that what people and benchmarks say is very accurate. That is the whole purpose of benchmarks, to rate a product against other products of the same variety. If it comes with lower benchmarks, how can you say that what the benchmarks indicate is not accurate? Also, the best place to find information is from other people, exactly the purpose of this forum so when you imply that people and benchmarks are inaccurate, I think you are wrong.

Just my 2 cents :-)

Although I guess you already ordered it, i have to agree with Override.
the FX5200 and FX5600 were basically flops based on what nvidia wanted them to do, and versus comparabile ATI cards at the time.

For an extra 10 dollars i would have gone with an ATI 9600 Pro
