First off hello all....

I need a way to verify the clock speed on my Radeon 9600.
Wondering if there is software that will tell me the core and memory clock speeds? They are supposed to be 325/400 but they are 325/202???
I tried using powerstrip to adjust the speed to the correct settings but that only made the system very buggy and unstable.
If anyone can suggest something else I may try please do so!

Not knowing much about that particular card, I would guess that the memory modules are ddr on the card. Which means powerstrips reading of 200mhz is accurate (400mhz in ddr mode).

Powerstrip is excellent program, I'd trust it.

Kids Quesion...

So this is kinda like my CPU reading I know its 266fsb speed but it only show it running at 133 when I pull up my system specs?
So hence 200 is actually 400 mhz? Wish they would just tell me that ..instead I thought I had a faulty card.
Oh and yep your correct its DDR memory....I am guessing as ddr is the memory type ddr is the default for running mode?
Pardon my stupidity!

Yes, that would be my guess. I'm sure someone more educated than me will explain it more thorougly.
The ddr memory cannot run in any other mode than ddr mode.

I do not consider this question stupid.

Another program is Radclocker. It adds a tab to the ATI control panel. To play with either core speed or memory clock you just move a slider. I use it and love it.

Talk Actually...

Before I posted last night I did some research to make sure my question had not already been asked and found a reference to that program. Needless to say when I tried it my screen went to hell... heh. I am guessing I had the setting wrong I would love to try and oc this but I need to find out what setting might be stable enough to try on this...any ideas?
