Windows Media Player 9

I have Windows Millennium Operating System installed
I recently went to the windows update site and installed windows media player 9 i used it for a week and decided i didn't like it tried to reinstall the older version back but it didn't work so i got mad and deleted all windows media player files on the computer and removed all references to it in the registry that i could find now i cant install version 9 or any other version. The only thing that wont delete is the folder the files were in keeps on saying its in use by the computer. Right now i am using Winamp to play music but would like to use windows media player again.

WMP 9 is the best of them (at least I think so). Can't you do a 'System Restore' to a date prior to when all this happened and then re-install WMP 9?
