Sound Problems?

I just finished upgrading my old athlon board and Prossesor, I bought athlon 2800+ board and Prossesor the Nforce board and a fx5600 video card with 256 megs ddr i also bought a new case with all the lights and crap, and threw all the old stuff from my 1.2 gig athlon into the new case works very well execept for one thing, during start up the sound cuts out and kind of crackles, only at start up though?

the rest of the time the sound works just fine and the computer seems very reliable.

I have an old sound blaster live value and I got the xp softwear off of the creative site .

Is this somthing I should worry about , or is it just from the large amounts of software I have installed loading at start up that causes the pause that cuts out the sound at start up?

is the card just old?, crapping out ? lack of power cause I got the case loaded with stuff?

I dunno , just need some input from all of you out there

Hey i got same problem but im running W98SE on a P4 2.6G thing is when i had my P1 233M running W98 1st ed i never had this problem!!!! Did you ever solve your problem??

Some comments i got were to remove any system tray apps but this is on a frech load of W98 ...i havent got in apps running yet!!!!

Anyway i keep searching

I had one do that. I just ignored it. I didn't really care what it sounded like starting up as long as everything else worked fine.

Seems there should be some "c"s in there somewhere.

I have some w98 comps that do the same sound stuttering during boot only. I think the comps are just really busy at that moment and they sorta gag....I wouldnt sweat it.
