reinstall internet explorer

hi, ill like to know how to uninstall internet explorer from win me??
i have a disk with explorer 5
i had 6 but for somereason when i go to add/remove there is not anymore microsoft internet explorer 6 and internet tools, now it just says internet explorer Q912912 (i am not on my pc so i dont know whats the exact number
when i select that one and click on add remove its says there is an invalid inf file

can somebody help me with this?

Can you reinstall IE 6.0?..then you should be able to uninstall it in the add/remove programs menu. I just looked (Win98SE) and IE 6 and OE 6 are both there. I do not see any other way to uninstall IE except thru the add/remove pgms.

well if your trying to reinstall ie six then just go to the windows update site and it will give the option to reinstal from there. If your trying to roll back to IE5 then it sounds like you already have. Another option is to go to program files {or should be} and then IE then run setup. itwill either fix the install or roll back to a previos version.

as for the Q912912 whatever its just a windows update

now if you're trying to completely remove it from win me I'm not sure there is a "lite version" of me but someone else might be able to help on that
