Systems network windows installation

someone asked me to put windows 98 on their computer but there's no way to hook up a CDrom drive to it while the harddrive is in (only one regular power thingy and one floppy, plus the ide cable only has one connector, and there's only one ide port) it does however have an ethernet card in it. i remember in my old highschool they booted computers from floppies to get them network ready and installed windows over the network (not sure what version). anybody have any ideas on how i can get windows 98 on this machine?

I'd just put a new IDE cable in it, or add another connector onto the existing one if you have the kit.
As to installing W98 over the network, all I can suggest is that you get it working in DOS (like you did with Windows 3.11) using the net command, then mount the CD to a drive and copy the win98 directory across.
As a third option, you could pull the hard disk and plug it into another machine. Format it, sys it, and copy the win98 directory from the CD. Then just plug it back in, boot it, and do:
Code:
cd \win98
setup
