Grr Linksys Access point bothering me

I have a Linksys access point WAP11 v2.2 which I'm trying desperatly to communticate to my D-Link DI-614+ wireless router.

I d/led the setup program from Linksys and if I hook up the access piont directly to my router (via a crossover cable or strangely enough a straight through cable it works?) I can get into the setup but if I try to change any of the settings they don't stick. ie. to set the thing to obtain a DHCP address and It asks me "Do you want to save the changes" I click yes.

The next time I start the Linksys setup program it tells me there is no access point found. I have to reset the access point wait a minute or so and it's back to this vicious circle.

The other supid thing is if I go into the DHCP log of my router it shows that it gave an IP to the access point. So I try to ping it from the command prompt and get a destination not found error.

I d/led the firmware update for this access point and can't for the life of me figure out how to update it... All I get is a .bin file and no way to implement the update.

I'm baffled on this and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jim

there is an update utility. basically a small TFTP app, but you should be able to get it from LInksys.

Hmm just checked the site
The idiots didn't include it

http://www.linksys.com/download/firmware.asp?fwid=11
Here is the link for the original WAP11 WITH the upgrade utility.
It may work, but not something I'd say "GO AHEAD no worries" :/

Maybe somebody else has a little more insight into this thing

See if maybe the original install apps include the upgrade utility

Thanks vass. I found an upgrade utility for that Access point on that link you gave but I can't connect to the Access point.

But then again with the setup utility I have to try to connect like 8 times before I can.

Oh well I guess I'll have to fiddle around with it more.
