Help!

I have a major problem with my computer! My computer won't boot up and I can't see anything on my screen. I don't think it is a virus becase usually it will get half way through booting and freeze up. I was playing Halo and kept getting this message about how I should play it in safe mode. All of the sudden my screen went to standby and I can't get it off. Do you think my video card is shot? I can't see ansoultely nothing. BTW If I don't have the box to my video card will Fry's take it back?

You need to let us know where it is freezing, your idea of half way and ours may be 2 different spots.
Are you getting the full post screen and then does it freeze at the start of Windows?
What is your operating system?
How old is your video card? Under warranty? I don't think Fry's will take it back. But right now you need to give us more info on your computer.
