DVD burn...no audio?

Hi all,

I am having a heck of a time burning a DVD. I'm a DVD burning virgin, I should confess. CD's no problem. DVD's well...

Once I finish burning a DVD, when I play it back, I can get video but no audio. I assume it's a configuration problem, but nothing seems to work.

Here's my set-up:

Pioneer A06 DVD writer
Leadtek WinFast TV2000XP Deluxe

I have my VCR hooked to the TV-card through a coaxial cable. I am using my onboard sound, not a sound card. I am able to record (capture) through the WinFast PVR application. I then use the included Ulead application to do the burning to the DVD using my Pioneer drive.

It all turns out fine, except no audio.

Can anyone help poor nerdgirl? Just let me know what other info you need.

have you tried playing back the video on the computer system. Is the audio there? I know it is possible to encode video for DVD in 2 files, one with the video and the other is the sound file. Which is how you do multiple sound tracks. Anyways. Im gonna bet that your capture software isnt listening to the right place or a cable isnt in place for the audio.

When I'm recording, I hear audio, but not when it plays back.

Where would a cable go for audio go? Is it internal to the DVD writer from the TV card, or does it come from the input, or ...?

Well what are you using to capture the video. you will need to set that up. Since you can hear the sound when recording see if there is an option for "What you hear" keep in mind that will also pick up any other sounds your computer makes like people signing in to MSN so that is not the best option. I have my line in going to the Line in on my Sound Blaster. If you use the mic it will distort sounds and such. I had to use the settings that say Line in and a few other things. Then I just recorded a few tests playing around to make sure I had the right one before I recorded everything. Best of luck
