Windows Protection Software

Hi,
I just got finished setting up 2 systems for my brother and sister. One is 10 years old, and one is 13.

One desktop is running: Windows Me
The other is running: Windows 98

Is there any software that can prevent them from downloading stuff, customizing the windows desktop, access control panels, or change settings?
Software that is free is prefered, but anything will do.
I need some sort of software that prevents them from doing the above.

Thank you very much, Paul

NO , I don't think so - but Norton Ghost will "put it back the way it was"
In record time!!!
PS pull the modem or NIC out!!!

what is that program called... "tweak ui"..is that the one?

You can get a registry editing program and it will do most of that I think.

You do have to be careful though as it is possible to "slip" and lock yourself out of the computer or lock certain features and not get em back, lol.

I think the popular one is called "tweak ui".

You can do stuff like make control panel not show up at all...or make some of the applets of control panel not show.....make some stuff on the start menu not show...disable right clicking.

They will be miffed if they cant download..cuz the first thing theyll want to do is dl kazaa! lol.

I do suggest norton ghost...you can make a restore cd easily and when they mess em up, you just put em back..no work involved.

Do a search for something like "freeware utilities"...and wade thru it till you see what you want. I cant remember the name of some that I have tried cuz its been a while...but there are some free ones that allow you to lock a lot of stuff down.
