I belive once you install the keyboard driver, it will use that one. If you already installed the driver, I'm not sure how to switch drivers. You can try reinstalling the driver.

Try going into Control Panel > Keyboard > Hardware > Properties > Driver > Update Driver > Display a list of known drivers > Have Disk.

You do have a disk, right?

the keyboard is a thermaltake xaser, tried your suggestion bill, but it said there are no better drivers. Under keyboards in device manager it lists my keyboard as a microsoft 101/102 or another microsoft keyboard. I think that's why it won't use the driver on the cd. I uninstalled the microsoft keyboard, hoping a reboot would detect new hardware and list it right, but it listed the same again.. i'm gonna try and contact thermaltake, but any other advice is welcome as well.

If you go to device mangler and remove the keyboard and reboot it might install the right driver or at least ask for the disk. Just a thought.
