GD, PHP, JPEG, installation on xp

trying to install GD, downloaded it, and apparently i need to compile it or something? with a C compiler??? windows xp.

ok , cancel that. got it working. any difference between GD1 and GD2?

What's GD, if you need installing PHP, I may be able to offer some help.

you use it to create images on the fly, for example thumbnails for a gallery. php4.3.3 has it built in though, i just had it off.
