My friend ask me to look at her computer (should have said no) because is smelled funny and had quit working. I discovered that the cpu fan had come off during a move and fried the MoBo.
I bought a new Asus A7N266-VM board and all the proper supporting chips. I reused the existing drives becouse there is some important data she wanted to maintain.
When I start the machine I get a Ntldr missing error.
I have gone into the bios and played with the drive properties but the only thing I can accomplish is to get that error to be replaced by "Disk Error" (progress ?).
The system is running xp but It is my (amature) oppinion that it is a bios issue.
