Windows 2003

I was reading a post and it said "Windows 2003". Is that a new version of windows?. To my knowledge the last version of winows for personal use was XP. Can a regular person buy it? How much does it cost? Is it better than XP? What new features does it have?

Word.

"Longhorn" is going to be the next release of Windows. In 2006 I do believe. There's a review of it somewhere around here.

Windows 2003 is the newest version of Windows Server Operating systems. Windows XP is still the latest for desktop use. Windows code-named Longhorn is the next generation of Windows for desktops, not servers and will be released in late 2005 early 2006.

some people think its cool to have the latest and greatest no matter the real purpose of the tools.. so they go out and get shady versions of the software so they can put it in their signatures

Stay away from 2003 unless you're running a SERVER.
It costs $$$$$$.
XP/2k works just fine as its actually a workstation product.
