XP wont let me on to my desktop

Okay folks quick run down can someone please help

I have an ECS K75SA with 2100+ Windows XP 256 mb of RAM and GF 3 TI 500 a cable modem and connection all the relevant latest drivers have the worm blaster patch and up to date Nortons Firewall and anti virus software.

My problem is I recently installed Cheetah an evaluation edition of a CD Burner and when I rebooted the machine windows XP would not let me onto my desktop. The desktop would appear momentarily and then throw me out telling me I was being logged off and the system was saving changes Im then left with an ICON along with my user name and again when I click on this im logged on and then thrown off back to point A again.

Now the thing is I can start the PC up in safe mode, so, i tried uninstalling the offending program and rebooted. NO JOY.
Also tried system restore still NO JOY.

Please please help Im on the stand by machine until I resolve this

where'd u get the cd burner...............if you got it at kazaaa or sumwhere its probably not healthy.............can u get up and running insafe mode and run a virus scan.............u know me i think every screen blip is a virus attack..............but log offs could be blaster or welchia.......or summat nasty

u should have my number somewhere...........give me a bell if u need to, if u need me to check symantec site or do a search for any error messages............i won't even mention how good call of duty is...........not until u get better

btw in my limited threads that start with "xp" in the title tend to get ignored.

No I got this program from a valid website its only evaluation software old chap and Im running Nortons in safe mode as we speak however seems a bit odd that this happened much the same as before after installing similiar software. Thanks for the come back I really just want to get to the bottom of why this has happened I dont want to be re-installing XP every couple of months !!!

Oh yes Im familiar with Beemer and his reg hacks hes a good egg helped me before I BELIEVE...........

it is probably the driver for the software causing major issues and not uninstallign completely ( haved you tried the vedor's support pages?)

Um Nortons said NO way Adware laughed at me I tried disabling start up items XP rolled about the floor in hysterics. Will try vendor's support pages. BTW thanks for the support doddsy hey wheres your friggin Avatar ?.
