hey guys,

I currently have dual boot setup redhat 9.0 & win_xp. I tried adding another partition and i got an error message of you currenlty have the maxium # of partitions on your drive. (to that extent) Anyone every run into this problem? Anyone have more then like 4-5 partitions on one hard drive??? (all the different linux part. do not count as 1). Anyone know a way around this? I am currently using a maxtor 80gb harddrive too. Thanx for the help guys

You can only have 4 Primary partitions.

You either need to make an Extended partition and add Logical drives, or just add Logical drives to an Extended partition you already have. Logical partitions are limited to your amount of disk space.

what evil rick said - i have quite a few partitions - of course they are on logical drives when needed.
